People often ask me why I enjoy traveling alone so much. I wish I had a really deep, thoughtful answer, but the truth is, this list is going to be short, sweet, and to the point.
I’m an only child and simply learned how to enjoy being by myself. I love to travel and I love “me” time, so why not put those two things together?
I’m on my own time. I don’t have to compromise with others, or sacrifice what I want to do and when to make other travelers happy too.
I’m on my own budget. There’s nothing worse than planning a big trip and getting labeled the bougie traveler for wanting first class tickets and refusing to fly on certain budget-friendly airlines. When I travel alone, I set the budget. I choose luxury or frugal.
If I can’t learn to enjoy my company, how can I expect my significant other to enjoy me?
Bonus reason: I’m grown and I can.
Don’t get me wrong. I love the company of others. When we took a girl’s trip to Vegas, I had an AMAZING time. I’m planning another girl’s trip to Essence Festival with an even bigger group. I just enjoy traveling solo equally as much.
